Frameworx makes social value donations to key housing providers at NHMF Conference

NHMF NPC Frameworx has made three notable contributions to leading housing providers at the recent NHMF Conference. These contributions were made in partnership with service providers to support social value in the Frameworx network.

David Miller, NPC Frameworx director, tells us more: “NHMF NPC Frameworx is a not-for-profit social housing procurement organisation committed to doing things differently. Since our launch in 2022, we’ve been determined to offer choice and value to our clients through our range of agreements and established network of approved providers, alongside a highly competitive maximum fee of 1.5% and a promise that all surpluses are invested back into social value, sustainability, innovation, research and training.

“The market has embraced our offering: so far, over £300m of works has been procured through Frameworx and heading into the conference, were in the happy position to follow through on our promise and invest in social value within our network.

“We invited Approved Providers to nominate one of the clients they are working with via Frameworx to receive a donation from our new Social Value Fund. Each of the three providers involved match funded this donation, so we were collectively able to donate £3,000 during the conference to support social value projects in the Frameworx community.”

CLC and Aster

In a session chaired by Frameworx Director, Mike Turner, Terri Walker from CLC Group Limited presented Gary Bellenger from Aster Group UK with a cheque for £1000, which will be split between two of Aster’s nominated charities:

  • The Aster Foundation, established from the recognition that half of all social housing customers experience poverty with the mission to understand the causes and offer initiatives to overcome them. Gary highlighted the example of barriers to employment, with an incubator scheme that supports around 5,000 new start-ups a year.
  • The second of Aster’s charity of choice is the Enham Trust, a 100-year legacy charity created after the first world war to help returning service people that had been critically injured and disabled. Today, that support extends to a wider range of disabilities, helping around 11,000 people with retraining and skills development.

Terri then prepared a presentation to highlight the work she does as CLC’s Social Value Manager, sharing examples of the health & wellbeing, community support and engagement, and employment and skills initiatives they undertake in their local communities, as well as the lessons learnt throughout.

As part of a particularly engaging social value fringe session, Wates’ Regional Social Value Manager, Christina Bryne represented Wates and their client, Hammersmith and Fulham, to receive the second donation.

Ian Williams and Hyde Group

The third donation was made in partnership with Ian Williams to The Hyde Charitable Trust.

Amy Boothman, Sales & Marketing Director at Ian Williams: “The Hyde Charitable Trust is part of the Hyde Group and supports the work of the Hyde Foundation, Hyde’s social investment team. They work to help Hyde residents and communities who are most in need by investing in programmes and services that have the most impact on their lives and futures.

“We were delighted to be offered this opportunity to support one of our customers in their commitment to making a real difference in their communities. The social value donations are a great initiative by Frameworx, and one we were happy to be part of.”

David concludes: “Overall, the NHMF Conference was another great event with lots of engaging speakers and informative sessions – I don’t think there was a topic left uncovered! We were pleased that the Frameworx Lounge played its part in this dynamic agenda with a steady flow of fringe sessions running alongside the main programme, focusing on social value and procurement.

“Thank you to Anthony Collins solicitors, the team behind the M3NHF Schedule of Rates and Faithorn Farrell Timms consultancy, who not only delivered a great session around the demands of the new Procurement Act but also sponsored a drinks reception to round off day one.

“We are delighted to have been able to make these donations to such worthy causes and this is definitely an initiative we’ll be continuing.”
